Panama: Economic activity grows at fastest pace since January in July
Latest reading: Economic activity increased 3.2% year on year in July (June: +2.4% yoy). The result marked the best reading since January. Looking at the details of the release, growth strengthened in the trade, transport, construction, agriculture and hospitality sectors. On the flipside, manufacturing plus mining and quarrying activity contracted.
Meanwhile, annual average economic activity growth fell to 2.8% in July (June: +3.5%), pointing to a worsening trend.
