Philippines: Inflation drops in February
Latest reading: Inflation eased to 2.1% in February, following January’s 2.9% and marking the weakest inflation rate since September 2024. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food, housing and utilities, and hospitality rose at a more moderate pace in February, and transport costs swung into decline.
In addition, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.1% in February (January: 3.2%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.04% over the previous month in February, contrasting the 0.12% drop seen in January.
