Poland: Inflation stabilizes in December
Latest reading: A second release showed that inflation stood at 4.7% in December, unchanged from November. Higher price pressures for energy plus housing and utilities broadly offset softer price growth for alcohol and tobacco, recreation, and hospitality. Meanwhile, food prices grew at a largely steady pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 3.7% in December (November: 3.8%).
Lastly, consumer prices were stable month on month in December, which was below the 0.50% rise seen in November. December’s result marked the weakest reading since September 2023.
