Poland: Inflation ticks up in September
Latest reading: Inflation rose to 4.9% in September from August’s 4.3%. September’s reading represented the highest inflation rate since December 2023 and brought inflation further above the ceiling of the Central Bank’s 1.5–3.5% target range. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plus electricity, gas and other fuels increased at quicker rates in September, outweighing a sharper drop in fuel prices.
The trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 4.1% in September (August: 4.3%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.10% in September over the previous month, stable from August’s reading.
