Portugal: Harmonized inflation holds steady in October
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 2.6% in October, unchanged from September’s reading. Looking at the details of the release, faster price pressures for food, housing and transportation offset a softer increase in hospitality costs.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 2.5% in October (September: 2.6%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 2.3% in October from the previous month’s 2.1%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.35% in October over the previous month, contrasting the 1.56% rise seen in September. October’s result marked the weakest reading since July.
