Qatar: Industrial production grows for first time since January in October
Latest reading: Industrial output rose 2.5% in year-on-year terms in October, up from September’s 4.7% decrease and the best result since January. October’s improvement was largely due to a rebound in energy production, which typically makes up around four-fifths of industrial production. A smaller shrinkage in manufacturing output—which typically comprises just under a fifth of industrial production—also helped.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.8% in October, up from September’s minus 2.4% reading.
