Romania: Industrial output bounces back in August
Latest reading: Industrial output grew 1.2% in month-on-month seasonally and working-day adjusted terms in August, which contrasted an upwardly revised 3.2% contraction logged in July. The rebound was due to a bounce back in manufacturing production. In contrast, both mining and quarrying production plus energy supply swung into contraction.
On an annual basis, factory output dropped 2.0% in August, a softer decrease than July’s 3.7% fall. Accordingly, the trend improved slightly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.3%, up from July’s minus 1.4%.
