Serbia: Industrial output records slowest expansion since May 2024 in January
Latest reading: Industrial production expanded 0.4% year on year in January (December: +2.7% yoy). The figure marked the worst reading since May 2024. The deterioration was driven by slowdowns in manufacturing and mining output. Moreover, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply fell at a steeper rate.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output rose at a faster rate of 0.7% in January (December: +0.6% mom). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.3%, contrasting December’s plus 0.5% reading.
