Serbia: Inflation comes in at highest level since April in October
Latest reading: Inflation inched up to 4.5% in October, slightly above September’s 4.2%. October’s reading brought inflation to the upper bound of the Central Bank’s 1.5–4.5% target range, and was the highest print since April. The pick-up was broad-based, with greater price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities.
Annual average inflation fell to 5.2% in October (September: 5.6%). Meanwhile, core inflation rose to 5.5% in October from the previous month’s 5.3%.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.58% from the previous month in October, following the 0.14% increase recorded in September. October’s uptick marked the highest reading since April.
