Slovakia: Economic sentiment increases in March
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 96.3 in March from February’s 95.9. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment among consumers, as well as in the industrial and construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the retail sector improved. Meanwhile, confidence in the services sector deteriorated.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were unchanged, while the economic uncertainty index fell in March.
