Slovakia: Economic sentiment decreases in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 93.4 in April, down from March’s 96.2. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected worse sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors, as well as among consumers. Moreover, confidence in the services and retail trade sectors deteriorated.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in April.
