Slovenia: Economic sentiment eases in September
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 96.9 in September from August’s 97.9. September’s result marked the worst performance since March. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial sector and among consumers. Moreover, confidence in the retail and construction sectors worsened. That said, confidence in the services sector strengthened in September.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were unchanged, while the economic uncertainty index rose in September.
