Slovenia: Industrial output grows at fastest pace in two years in August
Latest reading: Industrial output rebounded 7.2% year on year in August from a downwardly revised 1.3% contraction logged in July. The bounce back marked the best reading since January 2022. Looking at the details of the release, August’s improvement was largely driven by a sharp acceleration in manufacturing production. In addition, mining and quarrying production rebounded and energy supply output contracted at a slower pace.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose 0.3% in August (July: -2.7% mom). Accordingly, the trend improved notably, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at an over one-year high of minus 2.7%, up from July’s minus 4.2% reading.
