Slovenia: Industrial activity swings into contraction in September
Latest reading: Industrial output dropped 0.4% in year-on-year terms in September, which contrasted August’s 6.0% increase. The result was primarily driven by weaker manufacturing output growth plus a sharper drop in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production. More positively, mining and quarrying accelerated to a three-month high.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.6% in September (August: -0.2% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at an over one-year high of minus 2.4% in September, up from August’s minus 2.8% reading.
