Slovenia: Harmonized inflation increases in March
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation edged up to 2.2% in March from February’s 1.9%. The acceleration was largely due to rising price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, housing and utilities costs dropped at a less pronounced rate. That said, lower transportation prices could not keep inflation below the ECB 2.0% target.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 1.7% in March (February: 1.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 2.0% in March from February’s 1.6%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.80% in March over the previous month, accelerating from February’s 0.20% rise. March’s result marked the highest reading since June 2023.
