Slovenia: Harmonized inflation rises to nine-month high in January
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation rose to 2.3% in January from December’s 2.0%, marking the highest inflation rate since May 2024. The uptick reflected stronger price pressures for transportation costs. That said, food prices increased at a milder pace, and housing and utilities inflation waned as extended energy subsidies will cap energy prices until February.
Annual average harmonized inflation ticked down to 1.9% in January (December: 2.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 2.0% in January from December’s 1.9%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.30% over the previous month in January, a sharper drop than December’s 0.10% fall. January’s result marked the weakest reading since October 2024.
