Spain: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since February 2022 in September
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 107.3 in September from August’s 105.4. September’s result marked the best performance since February 2022. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors. Moreover, consumer confidence rose in September. On the flip side, confidence in the services and retail sectors weakened in September.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index fell in September.
