Spain: Industrial output growth deteriorates in October
Latest reading: Industrial output grew 0.5% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in October, which followed September’s 0.6% increase. October’s slowdown was largely driven by a deterioration in consumer goods output growth. In contrast, capital goods output improved.
On a seasonally and calendar adjusted annual basis, industrial output rose at a faster rate of 1.9% in October (September: +1.1% yoy), the best result since March 2023. Moreover, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at an over one-year high of 0.1% in October, contrasting September’s minus 0.2%.
