Spain: Harmonized inflation rises in January
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 2.9% in January, up from December’s 2.8%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and for transportation increased at a faster pace in January.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 2.8% in January (December: 2.9%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation ticked up to 2.9% in January from the previous month’s 2.8%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices dropped 0.14% over the previous month in January, swinging from December’s 0.44% rise. January’s result marked the weakest reading since July 2024.
