Spain: Unemployment rate hits lowest level since Q2 2008 in Q3
Latest reading: The unemployment rate ticked down to 11.2% in Q3 from 11.3% in Q2. Q3’s print was in line with market expectations and marked the lowest reading since Q2 2008. The number of employed people rose by 138,300, with job gains recorded in the construction, industrial and services sectors. That said, the agricultural sector registered a decline in employment.
Meanwhile the number of unemployed decreased by 1,200 people from Q2, and the number of people in the labor force rose by 137,100 to a total of 24.6 million.
