Sweden: Economic sentiment rises to five-month high but remains downbeat in November
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 96.3 in November, down from October’s 92.8. November’s result marked the strongest sentiment since June. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected a broad-based improvement: November noted healthier sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors, and confidence rose in the services and retail sectors as well as among consumers.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were weaker, while the economic uncertainty index deteriorated in November.
