Switzerland: Inflation increases in November but remains subdued
Latest reading: Inflation increased to 0.7% in November from October’s 0.6%. Lower food and transport prices continued to weigh on overall inflation in November, partly offsetting higher housing costs. Inflation was thus less than a third of that in the Euro area, kept in check by Switzerland’s ingrained low inflation expectations and mild wage growth.
Annual average inflation was unchanged at October’s 1.2% in November. Meanwhile, core inflation ticked up to 0.9% in November from the previous month’s 0.8%.
Finally, consumer prices dropped 0.13% in November over the previous month, unchanged from October’s reading.
