Switzerland: Inflation falls to lowest level since March 2021 in February
Latest reading: Inflation inched down to 0.3% in February, moderately below January’s 0.4%. February’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since March 2021. Housing and energy prices increased at a slower pace, while transport and clothing costs declined more sharply than in the previous month.
Annual average inflation ticked down to 0.9% in February (January: 1.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation was steady, coming in at January’s 0.9% in February.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.56% in February over the previous month, swinging from January’s 0.05% fall. February’s uptick marked the highest reading since February 2024.
