Taiwan: Inflation holds stable in December
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 2.1% in December, unchanged from November’s reading. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food increased at a quicker pace in December while transportation prices dropped at a milder pace. In contrast, prices for education and entertainment grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average inflation was unchanged at November’s 2.2% in December.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.02% in December over the previous month, swinging from November’s 0.10% rise. December’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since March.
