Taiwan: Inflation falls to eight-month low in September
Latest reading: Inflation dropped to 1.8% in September, following August’s 2.4%. September’s figure represented the weakest inflation rate since January. The result was driven by moderating price pressures for food and easing price pressures for transportation. Moreover, prices for education and entertainment grew at a more subdued pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 2.4% in September (August: 2.5%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.11% over the previous month in September, which was below August’s 0.39% increase. September’s result marked the weakest reading since March.
