Thailand: Inflation falls to lowest level since October 2024 in March
Latest reading: Inflation inched down to 0.8% in March, following February’s 1.1%. March’s result marked the lowest inflation rate since October 2024. Looking at the details of the release, transportation prices dropped in March after rising in February. Moreover, price pressures for housing and utilities softened.
Annual average inflation rose to 0.9% in March (February: 0.8%). Meanwhile, core inflation edged down to 0.9% in March from the previous month’s 1.0%.
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.20% in March over the previous month, a sharper drop than the 0.02% fall seen in February. March’s result marked the weakest reading since June 2024.
