Thailand: Inflation ticks up in November
Latest reading: Inflation rose to 0.9% in November from October’s 0.8%. November’s reading represented the highest inflation rate since May. Prices for transportation rebounded from October’s decline, while food costs grew at a softer pace and housing and utilities costs rose at a broadly similar rate to the prior month.
The trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 0.2% in November (October: 0.1%). Meanwhile, core inflation was stable, coming in at October’s 0.8% in November.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.13% over the previous month in November, below the 0.06% fall logged in October. November’s result marked the weakest reading since June.
