Thailand: Inflation rises in October
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 0.8% in October, up from September’s 0.6%. October’s result was the highest inflation rate since May. Looking at the details of the release, prices for housing and utilities rose at a slightly higher pace compared to the previous month’s and transport prices fell at a softer clip. Meanwhile, price pressures for food and beverages softened in October.
The annual average variation of consumer prices ticked up to 0.1% in October (September: 0.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation was steady, coming in at September’s 0.8% in October.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.06% in October over the previous month, broadly stable from September’s 0.10% drop.
