Thailand: Merchandise exports grow at a softer pace in November
Latest reading: Merchandise exports increased 9.1% in annual terms in November, following October’s 14.0% upturn. Meanwhile, merchandise imports expanded 2.3% in annual terms in November (October: +16.9% yoy), marking the weakest reading since June 2024.
As a result, the merchandise trade balance improved from the previous month, recording a USD 2.0 billion surplus in November (October 2024: USD 1.4 billion surplus; November 2023: USD 0.4 billion surplus). Lastly, the trend pointed up, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 20.0 billion surplus in November, compared to the USD 18.5 billion surplus in October.
