Thailand: Merchandise exports growth slows in September
Latest reading: Merchandise exports climbed 1.2% on an annual basis in September (August: +11.3% year-on-year). Meanwhile, merchandise imports expanded 9.7% on an annual basis in September (August: +8.4% yoy).
As a result, the merchandise trade balance improved from the previous month, recording a USD 2.5 billion surplus in September (August 2024: USD 2.4 billion surplus; September 2023: USD 4.2 billion surplus). Lastly, the trend pointed down, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 17.8 billion surplus in September, compared to the USD 19.6 billion surplus in August.
