Turkey: Economic sentiment falls in February
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 97.1 in February from January’s 99.0. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the industrial, construction and services sectors. That said, confidence in the retail sector and among consumers rose in February.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index fell in February.
