Turkey: Industrial output bounces back in September
Latest reading: Industrial output increased 1.6% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in September, which contrasted August’s 1.6% decrease. The reading reflected a broad-based upturn, with activity in the manufacturing, mining and quarrying and energy sub-sectors all improving in September.
On an annual basis, factory output fell 2.5% in September, easing notably from August’s 5.2% fall. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 0.4% in September (August: +1.1%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
