Ukraine: Inflation rises to over one-year high in February

Latest reading: Inflation increased to 13.4% in February, following January’s 12.9% and marking the highest inflation rate since May 2023. The uptick was broad-based: Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing and utilities, hospitality, and transportation all increased at a faster rate in February.

The trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 7.9% in February (January: 7.2%). Meanwhile, core inflation rose to 12.0% in February from January’s 11.7%.

Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.80% in February over the previous month, a smaller increase than January’s 1.20% increase. February’s result marked the weakest reading since August 2024.
