United Kingdom: Retail sales dip in October
Latest reading: Retail sales decreased 0.7% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in October, which contrasted September’s 0.1% increase and was more than twice as steep a decline as markets were expecting. Non-food store sales and online sales both contracted in October, potentially impacted by uncertainty over the government’s budget.
On an annual basis, retail sales rose 2.4% in October, which was below September’s 3.2% expansion.
